The balancing spool will usually have separated at the point where the two pieces are joined together. You will often find a white residue where the leak is. Change the whole spool. It will have the "O" rings on it already. : I have a recently installed kohler rite-temp shower faucet. I have the schematic. Do I need to replace the whole balancing assembly or just the o-rings. The leak has got progressively worse over the last 2 months and the dripping on the shower floor is driving my wife nuts at night. Unfortunately I can't replace my wife but I can replace the faucet internals. : help
