| In response to Re: How to remove a lead joint in Cast Pipe | |
|
There are several possibilities why it will not come out, ranging from a 1/2 coupling on the end of the pipe to the bead on the end of a cast iron pipe. In most cases it will not come out until you remove the lead and oakum holding it in place. : I'm attempting to replace my drain to install a new shower. I have removed the slab around the pipe and still need to remove a short section of pipe that is coming up from the cast pipe. The pipe is loose but will not come out. I do not want to get to rough with it, for fear of loosening the pipes under the slab. Any advice on this? THANKS
