You are not specific as to what you are doing. Replacing the diverter is a very simple thing. Replacing the valve in the wall can be very difficult, in which case $400.00 could be cheap. : In your opionion is this a Do It Yourself job? I have an estimate from a plumber for $400.00. Is there a special tool required to remove the dome on the water control valve? : Thanks
