??????Brand??? Style???

My husband and I are building a custom home and have been told to pick out our faucets. I thought that would be easy, Boy was I wrong! Here is my problem. I am doing an Italian Villa theme in the home for decorating. I would like to use the satin nickle which isn't quite silver, and not quite bronze. However, my husband and I are concerned about the finish on the faucets. Do they last? And what brand would be the best brand to choose from? I have a list of about 7 diff. brands, Which one is the best long term faucet, and has the widest variety of looks? If anyone has ANY advise please let me know. Thanks
