|In response to Re: Leaking Champion toilet|
If you are currently thinking about buying a new toilet, I'd stay away from the American Standard Champion and any of their other models with America's best flush tower. I've tried tanks from May, June, August, September, and October of 2003 and currently have an August and October tank. I have gone through three different styles of tanks. I believe the slightly different styles are produced at three different factories, so I don't believe it's an isolated "bad lot" problem. As for the fix, I doubt they have a reliable solution yet. I talked to someone briefly on January 5th who said they were still investigating the problem and would most likely send me a complete new tank. I haven't heard from them since and am now writing and calling them once a week.
: There have been a number of posts here regarding leaky flush valves on this model. Does anyone know if American Standard has addressed this problem? Is there a real fix? Are units after a certain date code OK?
