Are your water pipes in your house secured (strapped) well? : : : When my automatic sprinkler valves come on I get water hammer in the pipes of the house. I know this is common when water shuts off but in my case it happens when each of the valves open. I have a pressure regulator on the main house supply that is set to 60 psi and I installed a water hammer arrester in the supply line close to the sprinkler valves and it has not helped. Any ideas?

: : Do you have an accurate gauge installed next to the PRV or did you check it with a hose bibb style gauge? You really need to confirm that the PRV is doing its job. Your problem sounds like excessive water pressure in the system, if is set at 60 lbs., drop it down to 50, it may help.

: I have checked it with two different hose bibb type gauges only a few inches from PRV. PVR is only a month or so old. Any other ideas?
