|In response to Re: Basement Toilet Installation|
1/2"is quite a bit. The wax seal will compensate for it, but first you have to determine whether the recess on the bottom of the toilet is deep enough to compensate for that much of a difference. If not then the toilet will not set on the floor on the high side and will have to be shimmed. How to correct it is impossible to tell without knowing the pipe material, but if it is plastic you may have to open the floor and rotate the pipe so that it is verical.
: The toilet closet flange in my roughed-in basement bathroom is not level with the concrete floor (approx 1 5/8" on one side of the 7" flange and 2 1/8" on the other side). I have yet to install the sub floor. Does this have to be levelled or will the wax ring compensate for that much uneveness? If it must be levelled, how can it be done? Thank you.
