: I replaced my bathroom sink pop up drain assembly and can't stop it from leaking. The water seems to be coming through the threads at the top of the assembly. Should I use teflon tape to fix this? Reply: If you're referring the fine 1-1/4" threads from the tailpiece that screws into the drain assembly, yes, use teflon tape and pipe thread compound and tighten it very snug. Good Luck. e-plumber
