: I have a 2-story colonial. The furnance is in the basement and we have baseboard heat. On the 2nd floor you can hear the water rushing through the heating pipes. The first floor is fine, but it's quite loud upstairs. Is there air in the pipes leading to the 2nd floor?? Any thoughts on what is causing this annoying sound?? Thanks Reply: You have air in the heating system causing the noise that needs to be removed either by bleeding the rads from under the covers and or from purge valves on the heating lines at the boiler. Always bleed the air out with the circulator(s) off. Good Luck. e-plumber
