After digging up my stopped up line that was laid 40 years ago for the washing machine to drain out into..I come to the conclusion that it might be cheaper to tie the washing machine into the plumbing that is over head in the basement. Can most machinge pump up at least 5ft? If I tie pvc into the drain line and run it up to right below the floor joist and then slighly angle it down toward another drain line say from a bathroom sink and tie it in.....do I need a s trap and if I do would it be best say about a foot where I begin my angle downward to tie into a existing drain?
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.....thanks!
