: We are trying to get our old bathtub out but the drain won't unscrew no matter what. It sits on a slab. A previous post suggested cutting his drain out, specifically how could that be done? Wouldn't that damage the stub? I need to be able to attach the new tub's drain to that stub, so if cut would that be a problem? Thanks for any advice. Regards, vicki

I'm assuming you will be replacing the "waste and overflow" drain when you replace the tub.
So, whatever it takes to remove the old tub should be fair game.
