: I have a four-month old TOTO Carlyle toilet which blocked after my teenage daughter flushed a tampon down the toilet. A plunger doesn't work on a TOTO, so what does? Do I assume we have a blockage in our drain pipe eventhough the bathtub and sink seem to drain fine?

Tampons and toilets don't mix well.
That's what the waste basket is for.
A bucket of water may move things along, or if you use a plunger, the ones with the small end will work well.
Use short and quick strokes with the plunger, then pull up a bit.
Any and all toilets can be plugged.
