In response to Re: Acrylic shower pan repair
: While my husband was installing pipes above our basement shower stall, he dropped one and it made a crack/hole in the shower pan. We are planning to remodel in the near future (change it to a soaker tub) and do not want to spend much money fixing it - are there repair kits out there that can be used? Could we not silicone/epoxy/contact cement a rubber patch over it just as a temporary measure? Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Depending on how big the hole is, your husband can try to patch it with epoxy compound, I wouldn't use a rubber patch, just very good quality epoxy.
While showering, try to avoid stepping on the repair. Of course this is only temporary and may not work. There are companies around that do perform these type repairs.
Good Luck. e-plumber
