: As long as you turn off the cold water supply and turn off all electricity and/or gas to the tank, you can't really do much damage to yourself or the appliance. You will need some tools, though. It is dripping steadily. It needs to be a simple blow by blow as I am a novice....or should i be hiring a plumber...thought it might be an easy fix..thanks kindly...Jackson
