: I would like to hear thoughts on installing a shower stall in a basement,. The bathroom area is already plumbed for waste for a toilet and sink in the slab, but not a shower. The preferance would be to not cut the slab to tie in waste lines, so the only option that I am aware of would be to build the shower on a platform, is a pump then required? QAnt thoughts would be appreciated.

If there are gravity drains that can be used, they should be.
The correct install would be to open the cement floor and locate a drain pipe of the correct size and install the shower on the same level as the rest of the plumbing fixtures, there really isn't an easy way out without having the shower installation look terrible, keep in mind ceiling height as well.
Good Luck. e-plumber
