Thanks for the replies, guys. The straps were pretty loose... no, they were not copper. They were silver, felt like steel. So, I guess it would be worth while to go back in and put a barrier (e.g. tape?) between the straps and the copper pipe. Or, better yet, if they make copper straps, that would be even better. I'll check into that as well.
