In response to Re: Sewer Smell only after using the bathtub /shower
: I have this sewer smeall that appear in the basement after we have used the tub/shower. This smell then makes it way through the house. My wife is very sick of this smell. We have hired several plumber to come out here and they dont know what the problem is. Can anyone help me out with this before my wife leaves?

Did the plumbers check for the obvious?
Open sewer lines
-A missing cap or plug from a clean-out fitting
-A dried out drain trap on a infrequently used fixture or floor drain
-A possible cracked drain or vent line
-A leak of some type causing water to pool up
One would think after several plumbers checked this, one of them would have found the cause of the odor. The next step may be to have a licensed plumber perform a smoke test on the DWV system, if there is a defect somewhere, it will show up.
Good Luck. e-plumber
