The first thing you want to do is get rid of the plumber's putty. No matter what you do, it will probably still stain the limestone. Use a silicone sealer, or something else that does not contain an oil. : I am about to install a sink over soft, porous Italian limestone tile. The plumber's puddy directions say to coat any natural stone surface where the plumber's puddy will contact the tile with a clear acrylic lacquer prior to installation. The product I am using on the tile is Miracle Sealants # 511 Impregnator. My questions are: will this product suffice as a barrier between the limestone and the plumber's puddy? What about longevity of the barrier? What about Alternate/superior alternatives, if any? Thanks, Richard
