Pipe sizes (diameters) are generally figured by fixture units, an arbitrary number given to fixtures based on their water usage. Run a 3/4 cold and a 1/2 hot. You can go to 1/2" on the cold after you have pulled 1 fixture off. New shower heads put out only 2.5 gpm at 80 psi. Deb The Pipewench
