In response to Re: No Shower Trap Installed
: Terry,
: We have a new construction Home, and the trap on the first floor shower was not installed. We have radiant floor heat in a 6 inch slab, and just a quick note as to why the contractor cannot be called, he skipped at about 80% finished, and no subs were ever paid. We have settled that mess, and are now correcting thier problems. How can I install a trap after the fact?

: Thanks,

: Randall

Is your "first floor shower" slab level or one flight up?
If it's a slab, it's not going to be fun, or neat. The cement floor needs to be opened very carefully around the shower base or the shower base needs to be completely lifted to expose the drain piping. The heating lines may need to be marked out to prevent any possible damage.
If the shower is one flight up, open the ceiling. Unfortunately, this sounds like only the beginning of your troubles. Hire only a licensed plumber.
Good Luck. e-plumber
