I think you realize you will have to replace the fitting. For a temporary patch to get you through the party, there is tape that should work. I'm sure the maker claims it will seal forever. Of course, the fine print says "or 6 hours which ever comes first." I don't know the name the name of it, but HD,Lowe's, or most any other plumbing supply house should have it.
