Reply: As long as there isn't any water sitting in the valve, yes, you can re-heat the joint and remove the hoss bibb, clean the copper stub out. What I do is install a female adaptor for a hose bibb (boiler drain) or a male adaptor for a sill cock. This will ease future replacement.
