|In response to Re: Aquaglass tub/shower needs cleaning. Help! :-)|
I also have an AquaGlass shower and use Gel Gloss previously mentioned on this page. It's available at Home Depot and I believe most True Value Hdwe stores. If your water is hard, you should consider installing a softener, even if you are on a municipal system. The Gel Gloss is not intended for removing hard water stains. And the very act of cleaning them is abrasive to the finish. I would try a mild solution of vinegar and water. Blot don't scrub!
: : We bought our home a year ago and in 2 of the bathrooms the builder installed AquaGlass Gelcoat Builder Tubshowers 326032A
: : We have never had these acrylic tubshowers before, always had porcelin and tile. We live in Indiana so our water is pretty hard, full of limestone and the walls and floor of these showers are covered with a hard water film. We have tried mild cleansers but that has not done the trick and we are afraid of damaging the gelcoat with something like Limeaway or TheWorks. We already know that something abrasive is out of the question.
: : I cannot seem to get any answers out of AquaGlass on how to clean these units. They seem to sell their own cleaning products but I tried getting ahold of their rep and no luck there either.
: : Anyone know how to get these units back to being clean and smooth? Thanks!!
