: My washing machine's waste water pipe also has a connection for a utility sink. The pipe for the sink is not capped off and shoots out the water like a firehose when the washer spins. Is this just something I need to cap until I get a sink? Reply: Cap or plug the open line. If water shoots out of somewhere else while the WM operates, or overflows, after you cap it, you could have a clog in the drain line. Good Luck. e-plumber
