|In response to Re: toilet vent line - need one if one already exists?|
We do not know where the new bathroom is going or how you will connect it to the rest of the plumbing, but your question implies that you need a plumber to make sure it is connected properly. We might be able to tell you how to do it, but either we would describe it incorrectly for your specific application, or you could misunderstand the instructions and do it wrong. Then you would not only have a poorly operating toilet, but you would think we are a bunch of idiots that told you the wrong way just to hurt a DIY'er.
: i'm buiding a new bathroom on the first floor. do i need to have a separate vent teed off from the waste line of this toilet if there is already a vent at a septic tank. i'm afraid if i don't have a separate vent line from the one at the septic tank, then it won't flush properly because this bathroom is on the first floor.
