From your description it appears that one of the bearings on the pump is seizing and causing the motor to overheat and then go into overload. You may need a new motor or bearing assembly, or both. Replace the spring coupler at the same time you repair it. : My pump seems to turn on and off frequently. Tonight it seems to have an electrical burning smell. I tried to check to see if it was running correct, but I couldn't tell. It seems if the shaft is held with springs some how. Should I be able to see a shaft turning the pump portion. I don't see anything turning and the springs look a little goofy. How does this pump work?? does anyone know?
