In response to Re: Valve redo
: I've sweating everything together for my shower valve and I ended up with one joint that I need to redo, unfortunately it is where the copper goes into the brass shower valve. I've heated it to get it apart, what is the best procedure for redoing the job? The inside of the valve joint is tinned with solder, do I need to clean it out real well with emory paper and get it nice and shiny or do I need to try and remove the solder that is in there?

: Any help is appreciated.

: Thanks,

I would take it apart, clean it internally with a turn brush, and use new fittings to reassemble it.
It would also be a good idea to remove any shower valve parts that could possibly get damaged from excessive heat.
Good Luck. e-plumber
