In response to Re: Water pressure from shower head stops and goes and then the eventually stops

: My shower consists of the type where there are three valves. The left and right valve control the hot and cold water and the center valve controls where the water comes from. The shower is fine when the water comes from the bottom faucet. However, when water comes from the shower head, the water pressure jerks and the water comes on and off. Eventually the water pressure stops. This occurs when only the hot is on, only when the cold is on, or when both hot and cold are on. I tried replacing the shower head and still the same problem occurs. So, I took off the shower head and the same problem occurs without the shower head on. What should I do?

: Thanks

The diverter stem (middle stem) needs to be removed from the faucet and inspected for a loose washer or worn parts. The water generally does not need to be shut to do this.
Good Luck. e-plumber
