: Probably another stupid question. I'm installing a new fibreglass shower unit that is offset from the wall about 1 inch+. The new valve will also be an inch to inch and a half further out from the wall than the original location. Here's my question. For the supply lines to the valve, should I just just slant the lines so they run at an angle to meet the valve or should I make use of two elbows solder together halfway up the line:

: so that the lines remain straight.

There are no stupid questions. It's better to play it safe than kick yourself afterward.
The H & C water lines need to be installed straight into the faucet, plumb and level, using 90 degree fittings if needed.
If not the trim will not fit correctly and it will definetely look unprofessional.
