The thermocouple could be weak, but if the pilot will light and stay lit until the burner starts, (and the burner stays on long enough to heat the tank and shut off normally), then that is a slight possibility. There are many other reason that it could happen, ranging from back drafts to a restricted flue in the heater. : Dear Terry, : I have a gas furnace here in Ohio on Lake Erie. The pilot has gone out five times since I've been home from work. What should I do. I have limited funds so I have to try to fix this myself. Please advise. Thank you. Sulli
