: We have a constant battle in my house to keep the three toilets unplugged. I know the clog is biological.... Usually plunging gets things moving, but currently we have two toilets plugged. Plunging isn't working. Should we try lye or some other chemical to help break up the clog? Is there some sort of enzyme or chemical we could use as needed to keep things moving? We are on city sewer, but is there something we could use that is used on septic systems? Chemicals should never be used in toilets (I actually think they should never be used anywhere). If you have problems with frequent clogging, pick up a closet auger and learn to use it--not too tough. I would be checking the main line too. Deb The Pipewench
