: I'm installing a sewage ejector. I've got a check valve that will pass 2" solids. I've seen in drawings that a gate or ball valve should be inserted above the check valve. Is this necessary? Will it typically still pass code without it? Any thoughts are appreciated. UPC requires a gate valve.
