In response to Re: Is gate valve necessary in sewage ejector discharge pipe?

: I'm installing a sewage ejector. I've got a check valve that will pass 2" solids. I've seen in drawings that a gate or ball valve should be inserted above the check valve. Is this necessary? Will it typically still pass code without it? Any thoughts are appreciated.

The gate valve should be installed for servicing purposes. Your local code will dictate if it is required. According to manufacturers installation instructions, it is.
