In response to Re: Whirlpool Water Heater problem - brand new unit
: I installed a new Whirlpool 40 gal natural gas unit today and the pilot will not light... this seems to be a constant problem with the Whirlpool water heaters - at least I've seen various pilot malfunctions in other posts. Seems as if the pilot light goes out over time and various parts have to be replaced, and often these do not solve the pilot problem... in a few days or months it happens again...

: Anyone else having problems with Whirlpool Water Heaters? Are they poorly designed and built or are they reliable?? thanks!!

Reply:
If the WH was installed today and you are postive you are doing everything correctly and the pilot will not light, call for assistance.
Here, if there is a defect with a new WH, our distributor, no matter which brand, will arrange for a certified company (through the manufacturer) to service the WH and get it going.
Good Luck. e-plumber
