I am not sure how to drain it to check the pressure. I used a tire guage today and checked it as it is, which I am asuming it is full, and the pressure read 45. Can you give me any guidance? Thanks for the help.

: : I have a pumptrol switch for my well/tank setup. I am trying to get the settings right, but can't seem to do so. I tried to set it to 40/55 or close to, but can't seem to get it right. I have the two adjustment screws to work with. When taking a shower, the pressure drops noticibly, then a few minutes later, it gets to the perfect setting, but then drops again. I turned on the shower and watched the pressure gauge for about 5 to 10 minutes. It stayed in the area of about 40, it then dropped to 26, then kicked on and slowly climbed to 55 before it clicked down. The wide range of pressure doesn't seem right to me. How do I keep the pressure at 40 and climb to 55, then only go as low as 40 again? Any help would be appreciated.

: What is the pressure in your pressure tank. It needs to be checked with the water drained. A 20# differential is the best.
