: Unfortunately I am about to get laid off at my job. I am considering going to the local votech school for plumbing. I'm 33 years old but in good physical condition. Is this too old to begin a career in plumbing? Will employers hire plumbing apprentices this old? The job market seems good for plumbers, am I correct? Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you Reply: Good plumbers are always in demand. You can definetely get hired at 33 or older as an apprentice. Just keep one step ahead of the next guy and you'll be fine. Work hard, study and learn in the field, prepare for the journeymens test and work your way up. Good Luck. e-plumber
