The oldest ones had a spool just like the Moentrol and it was under the trim plate. It has a large nut with a screwdrive slot in it. Sometimes you can remove it and tap it on the floor. If you can shake it and feel/hear the piston inside moving back and forth reinstall it. Otherwise replace it. : : We get almost zero hot water out of the shower/tub. There is plenty of HW at the sink. What is the diagnostic procedure? Adjustments?
