If the plumber could not extract it, then he was not really a plumber. Especially if you were able to get it out, since WD-40 on that part is usually ineffective. : Just replaced the diverter on my shower, after the $$$ : plumber couldn't get it out (amazing what Liquid Wrench will do..). I found at an ACE hardware : that the old diverter matched up perfectly with the 4' Speakman and it installed just fine. The question is how to go about replacing / rebuliding the hot & cold valves, since this shop doesn't carry these parts. Are the parts still available for Speakman? Is Speakman made under other brand names? Is Speakman a reliable brand?
