In response to Re: Takagi tankless water heaters
I installed one of these in a large house (6000 feet) with a recirculating hot water loop and a water heater as a tank in the loop. If the 60 gallons of water drop below the temp, it is heater by the takagi. The only problem I have had with it is the metal filter screen fills up with some residue and then shuts the system down about once a year. I clean it and then it goes for another year. I do have a whole house H200 filter on the water and after that a water softener. I used it because I would need 2 80 gallon tanks for this house, and I did not have the room for these tanks in the garage and I refuse to build homes with the tanks in the attic because of leaks. The water seems hotter than when I have a similar system with tanks only.
