|In response to Re: where do i attach the pipe to be ventedNew Toilet Vent|
: It would be ...thanks for the reassurance.
: : By proper height I mean terminating above the level of the toilet tank so that a stoppage could not overflow out the vent.
: : : : Your inspector will be the final arbiter, but if the vent out the gable is the proper height and not near a window, then it should be proper.
: : : : : I'm putting a new half bath in my unfinished second floor dormer. The Dormer is not the full width of the house so it leaves gables (the 'original' roof line) about 2feet on each side of the house. Can I vent the 3" toilet stack through the gable roof near the toilet or does the vent stack need to go through the dormer roof for proper code? The plumber that is doing the job says it's ok but I have never seen a 3" stack thru a gable. I have seen 2" (sink, tub) but not 3"(toilet) on some of the area homes. For some reason I don't believe him. A lil' help is appreciated....thanks
