: I am interested in having a toilet in my basement, but am not sure how it would be done. I have city water and the pipes appear to be located in the concrete floor of my basement. Should I break the concrete to tap into the line, or could I use an upward flushing toilet and access the pipes I can see? Do I need a vent? How would all of this be accomplished?
