In response to Re: Sewer Gas Smell In Bathroom
: WE have a 40 year old building and our ladys bathroom is emitting a sewer gas smell. We are uncertain where it is comming from. All the drain traps are full of water and no leaks are found. But if the room stays closed for any length of time we get the smell. I did notice the the sink trap has a lot of activity in it when looking down into it with a flash light. Also when the trap is empty their is a force of air blowing in to the room. The roof vent is open I checked it. Do you have any ideas?
Dan; What is meant by "sink trap has a lot of activity?". Also you say "When the trap is empty".., The trap should NEVER be empty. This is where the sewer smell is coming in. Correct the empty trap problem and the smell will not come in, it will disperse thru the roof vent, like its supposed to do..Hube
