: : : I had the kitchen sink valve replaced and since the replacement, my hot and cold water pressure is noticibly lower than before. The pressure is so low that pressing the thumb valve on the hand sprayer wont close the valve to divert water into the hand sprayer. The hand sprayer empties but water keeps running in the faucet. The plumber who replaced the faucet is stumped. There are no leaks and he checked multiple time to try and discover why the pressure is low. Any ideas?

: : The first thing I check is the aerator, then the diverter, then the cartridge, stems, disc (whatever), then the supply risers, then the stops, then the...You simply have to trace things backwards. What exactly did your plumber do?

Well, the guy is a friend of mine and is a retired union plumber. He had this nice Delta faucet left over from when he was service plumber. Basically he replaced the entire valve, faucets, sprayers hoses and all. He only charged me for some hoses and a basin wrench in a size he needed but didn't have. All I owe him are drinks so he really isn't trying to scam me. I was wondering if maybe he used bigger supply hoses than the previous valve had causing a loss of pressure. I guess I have to call in the cavalry to get to the root of this.
