The drain can be partially plugged and still not back up from a garden hose. The washer has a much faster discharge than the garden hose, and unless the pipe is undersized, you do have a partial blockage in the drain line. : I just moved into an older house that is on a sewer line. The problem is that the washing machine drains and backs up and sprays water out the drain hose. I have put a regular garden hose down the drain and it works fine. I have also made sure there was nothing clogging up the drain. The washer just seems to drain to fast for the drain? any suggestions woudld be appreciated
