I tried that with an extention hose, but it still didn't flow down the drain fast enough? It will drain fine if I put the hose in the drain out, but for some reason backs up in the u-section of the drain? I have also had a hose flow just fine down the vent from the roof, so I know it is not clogged? : A friend of mine had the same problem. I was able to push a piece of cast iron pipe up in the hose and clamp it with an automotive clamp. The smaller hole was just enough to restrict the flow and slow it down. : Be carefull not to restrict the hole too much and cause the pressure to blow the hose off. : : I just moved into an older house that is on a sewer line. The problem is that the washing machine drains and backs up and sprays water out the drain hose. I have put a regular garden hose down the drain and it works fine. I have also made sure there was nothing clogging up the drain. The washer just seems to drain to fast for the drain? any suggestions woudld be appreciated
