: We bought a new house with a powder room plumbed to mount a pedistal sink. When we tried to set the sink, there was no wood support provided and the plumbing vent is in the exact location of where we would put an anchor or bolt. We drilled into the vent by accident, had a plumber cut a hole in the drywall to repair it, but we are still puzzled as to how we can mount this sink properly. The vent sits directly behind the drywall, there is no room for wood. Any suggestions?
Well the obvious thing to do would be to hAve the builder fix it, they are supposed to know what they are doing and if you had it roughed for a pedistal sink they should have made accomodations for the mounting, option 2) no room for wood? how bigs this vent, there should always be room in most cases to attach some bracing, even if it means relocating the holes in the mounting plate over a bit....good luck,,,,
