It is probably more a case of the pressure oscilating and causing the points to open and close rapidly. Check the air pressure in the tank when the water is completely drained from the tank. : The points are bouncing on my well pump pressure switch causing a staccato cycling of the pump motor which I'm sure is not good for it. What causes this & how do I get it to stop?
