|In response to Re: length of sewer line to septic tank|
The minimum distance is usually set at 10' from the building, there is no maximum. Be sure the inlet to the tank is lower than any anticipated plumbing discharge from the house. 4" pipe can slope 1" per 8' of length. 3" and smaller is 1" per 4' of pipe.
: I have two questions: Is there a standard range of acceptable length of sewer pipe leading to your septic tank? and, Does it make any sense to put the septic tank in before you build? The rules of my development require that you do it that way but it seems to me its the cart before the horse. Any input will be appreciated.
