Hello Kurt. You do not have to put the septic in before the building goes up. No, there is no range between the bldg. and the septic. Just be sure that the sewer line has enough fall going to the tank. If it's over 80ft. away, I would recommend a cleanout somewhere in the mix. Usually a 3"-4" sewer line will require 2.5" of fall per 20'. Keep that in mind when setting the septic tank elevation. Do not get it to high.: I have two questions: Is there a standard range of acceptable length of sewer pipe leading to your septic tank? and, Does it make any sense to put the septic tank in before you build? The rules of my development require that you do it that way but it seems to me its the cart before the horse. Any input will be appreciated.
