Help! overflowing basement drain
Posted by Anton on June 22, 2003 at 03:17:04:
We just bought a slightly older home ( @35yrs old), and the problem is the basement drain. the washing machine drains into a pvc pipe that just runs from behind the machine along the floor into the drain. latley when a large load is washed, the water doesnt drain. it just comes back up! eventually it seeps back down, but it worries me. We had an individual come and clear a clog last month, because the shower and toilet would make it back up too. now its doing it again. what can i do? can this be fixed? is this not a good way to drain your washing machine? if not, what else can I do? there is also no outside sewer vent as far as i can tell, please help!
